75+ Winter Camping Recipes To Keep You Warm While Camping In Cold Weather!

Are you ready for some awesome camping food for your cold weather trips? These winter camping recipes include some of your favorite comfort foods that make the perfect warm camping meals when you want to stay toasty while the outside air temperatures are frosty cold!

Psst we’re compensated…see our disclosures.

Warm Camping Meals For Wintry Weather Camping

You can cozy-up to a hot campfire on your winter camping trips as you prepare these yummy camp meals … or when you are in high elevations when the weather is cold in the spring and fall camping seasons too, like in the area of White Mountain Arizona camping destinations.

Beverages

Sipping a hot beverage warms you from the inside out and it is one of my favorite ways to stay warm in a tent on cold camp trips.

1. Campfire Hot Chocolate

Campfire Hot Cocoa - Camping For Foodies .com

You can’t go camping in the winter and not have a few mugs of hot cocoa! Make this hot cocoa mix prior to your trip, then, at camp you can make a cup at a time, or, a big batch for a group.

Camping Tip: One of the best ways to serve hot drinks in cold temperatures is to use insulated mugs that are not cold-soaked. Warm drinks will maintain their temperature longer if you take the chill out of the mug before using it. Pre-heat the mug with hot water or set it in a warm location to heat up a bit before you pour your beverage into it.

2. How To Make Coffee When Camping

Non-Perishable Foods For Winter Months

It’s not necessary to have a warm meal to maintain your body temperature on a cold day. It is a good idea to stock your camp kitchen with the type of foods that produce body heat. Eat food that is high in fiber and made from complex carbohydrates. Your body digests those foods slower, and in turn, generates heat in your body. Consider packing these items for your outdoor adventures in winter weather.

  • Root vegetables
  • Barley
  • Quinoa
  • Instant oatmeal
  • Instant rice
  • Beans
  • Energy bars
  • Trail mix
  • Granola bars
  • Cliff bars
