If you’re sick of overheated, sweaty, smelly feet after every hike, listen up! I’ve got a new pair of socks that might just be a game changer.

Let me introduce you—and your hard-working feet—to Silverlight socks. These hiking socks are designed for odor-free, blister-free hiking with silver coated threads that never wash out. They also boast long-lasting durability and come with a lifetime guarantee.

But are they are as good as they claim? I’m putting these socks to the test to determine if they really are the ultimate game changer for hikers. Read on for my verdict!

Where to Buy Silverlight Socks

The best place to grab yourself a pair—or several!—Silverlight socks is from Silverlight themselves. They won’t overwhelm you with too many options like most sock companies. They keep it simple with one highly tested, fantastic sock pair available in either the ankle or crew style and either black or blue.

Why Silverlight Socks Are Great for Hiking

Say goodbye to sweaty feet! Silverlight socks dry faster than most other socks on the market because of their dual-layer mix of nylon and merino wool. With a pair of these moisture-wicking hiking socks, your feet will be more breezy than ever the next time you hit the trail.

Additionally, the outer compression layer keeps the socks in place, even during long hikes. No more awkward hopping or reaching to pull a slouching sock back up into place! And no more blisters on your feet or heels!

Perhaps the most unique feature of Silverlight socks is their anti-odor quality. It’s no secret that most socks get smelly pretty fast. But thanks to Silverlight’s unique silver yarn, your feet don’t ever need to stink again. While merino wool is a natural anti-bacterial substance, silver yarn actively kills bacteria much more effectively, eliminating the post-run foot odor that you could really live without.

Pros

  • Temperature-regulating
  • Odor-free

Personal Experience

Let me just say up front that I really liked these socks! I wasn’t sure what to expect, but from the moment I put them on, it felt like my feet were going to be well taken care of. I’ve been wearing them for a few weeks now, and I can definitely attest to their cool comfort and ability to keep my feet dry.

I’m an avid hiker, so having quality products protecting my feet is a priority to me. I can honestly say that these socks did make quite a difference.

My absolute favorite feature of these socks was how they eliminated the nasty “after-hike” smell. You know the one I’m talking about, when you take your boots off and are immediately smacked in the face by the smell of sweat and toe jam. However, these socks use the same antimicrobial technologies that astronauts and people in the medical profession use to prevent build up and growth of bacteria.

That means no foot rot, infection, or just stinky feet! Boy, can I appreciate that! I hate the feel of sweaty, dirty feet. But with these silverlight socks, that’s an issue no longer.

And the back of my heel where my tennis shoe rubs? These socks have that covered, too. The socks are protect my heel from the friction of my shoes while the material keeps my feet cool, dry, and cushioned. Blisters are a common issue for hikers, but these socks help to eliminate those which means hikers like me can stay on the trail longer–another feature of these socks that gets a big thumbs up from me.

Things I Didn’t Love

Overall, I was pretty impressed with these socks, but I must admit that at times I felt like the compression was just a bit too tight. This is likely something that will vary from hiker to hiker, but for me, this was definitely something I noticed.

Compression is a big part of why these socks work so well. You don’t want space or slipping-that’s what creates blisters. So, it makes sense that these are designed to be a bit snug. However, after wearing them for several hours, I noticed rings above my ankles from where the fabric dug into the skin. It wasn’t altogether uncomfortable, but not entirely ideal either.

I think the compression aspect can be either a pro or a con depending on who you ask. For me it was a bit of a con, but not something that would hinder me from wearing these socks again or buying another pair.

These socks are also a little pricier than others. However, as my mama always says, you get what you pay for and quality always comes with a higher price tag. So, that’s something to consider as well.

Final Verdict for Silverlight Socks

Overall, I think these socks are indeed a game changer for hikers!

The medium thickness of Silverlight’s socks, combined with the perfect balance of merino wool, nylon, and silver, create a hiking sock for all trail lengths and types of weather. If you’re an avid hiker like me, I would recommend snagging a pair of these socks.

While they are expensive, your feet will thank you for the cushion, moisture-wicking, and breezy temperature control. Treat your feet to some Silverlight socks today!
