Sustainable travelers are becoming a big thing in our world these days. Most want to be a more eco friendly traveler considering how much waste there is on our planet. There are so many reasons to be eco friendly and reduce your single use plastic waste. More are on the rise to using recycled materials, reusable, and eco friendly products. From eco friendly toiletries, a shampoo bar, and eco friendly packing cubes, we got you covered.
GoToob+
GoToob+ by Human Gear are some of my favorite eco friendly travel products. They have upgraded to their original GoToob making the bottles larger, having wider mouths, and a hook that makes them perfect to hang up in the shower or wherever. What is amazing about these products is that all your product is being used since the bottles are made of silicone making squeezing every drop more accessible. These are a great way to store your eco friendly toiletries on my carry on that go through airport security.
Secondly, you save so much money, time, and plastic on continuously buying trial or travel products at the store that these make these completely environmentally friendly.
Diva Cup
These are probably one of my most used eco friendly travel products which are menstrual cups. I never thought I would own one of these, but a Diva menstrual cup are a great addition for anyone trying to reduce their plastic waste and save money on tampons or pads. A menstural cup is perfect for travel when several countries do not have tampons accessible and it’s small, compact, and lasts for several hours. These menstural cups hav reduced my environmental footprint significantly.
Metal Straw
One way to reduce your plastic waste is by bringing your own straw around with you. This metal straw is eco friendly, reusable, and perfect for on the go. I love using this when I’m out and about or even at home to avoid plastic straws. The straw can be compacted and placed on a keychain. Plastic straws create so much harm to our marine life.
Bamboo Toothbrushes
I love using bamboo toothbrushes because they are eco-friendly, durable, and compostable. I have tried many eco-friendly toothbrushes made of different materials but found that the bamboo toothbrush ones work the best for me.
Bamboo is a sustainable material that grows quickly and doesn’t require any pesticides or fertilizers to grow. It’s also biodegradable, so it won’t sit in landfills for years as plastic toothbrushes will. The Humble Co. biodegradable Bamboo Toothbrush is by far my favorite bamboo toothbrush. The bristles on this bamboo toothbrush are soft and gentle on my teeth and gums, and the handle is comfortable to hold.
These are a great eco-friendly alternative to plastic toothbrushes, and they’re just as effective at cleaning your teeth.
iPad Air with Apple Pencil
An iPad is a great way to be more eco friendly and reduce your paper waste. I love bringing my iPad around and using my Apple Pencil to take notes, write in my calendar, and use it as a Digital Planner. It helps keep all of my notes in one place, especially on the Notability or GoodNotes app. Many might not considered these to be eco friendly travel products, but with millions of trees being cut down yearly for paper, this was a no brander for me.
Reef Safe Sunscreen
We all know how important it is to wear sunscreen, but regular sunscreen can be harmful to reefs and marine life. Reef-safe sunscreen is eco friendly, and it doesn’t contain any of the harmful chemicals that are found in regular sunscreen. If you plan on doing some island hopping, I suggest getting this reef-safe sunscreen to help protect marine life.
Bee’s Wrap
Bee’s Wrap is the perfect gift and perfect eco-friendly product to bring with you. If you travel with reusable to-go food containers, then Bee’s Wrap will be your new favorite product. The Bee’s Wrap is a cling wrap alternative made with eco-friendly materials. You can use this to wrap up fruit, vegetables, sandwiches, etc. It is only suggested that you do use it with meats. Additionally, the wrap uses the heat of your hands to be able to cling to your bowls, plates, or cups.
Reusable Snack Bags
I love these eco friendly reusable snack bags instead of a plastic bag because they are perfect for on the go snacks and reduce single use plastic. I always have one of these in my purse filled with nuts or granola. These eco friendly travel bags also great for packing school lunches and bringing them along to work. These reusable snack bags are made of 100% cotton, so they’re machine washable and eco friendly. Although these are not completely plastic free, using these instead of disposable bags reduces waste up to 300+ a year.
Reusable Bags
Reusable bags are great eco friendly travel products to have on hand when you plan on going shopping and buying things during your travels without using plastic bags. They don’t take up much space, they are easier to carry around than disposable plastic bags and they are better for the environment. Ever since California has put a ban on plastic bags, I have been carrying reusable bags on me.
Some of my favorite eco friendly travel bags are this backpack and this small compact tote bag.
Lush Shampoo Bars
Shampoo Bars are solid toiletries that help reduce plastic waste in our landfills. These are some of my favorite eco friendly travel products and hack. They are a solid alternative to liquid shampoos which come in plastic bottles. I have tried a few different shampoo bars, and my absolute favorite is the Lush Shampoo Bar. The Lush Shampoo Bars last a lot longer than liquid shampoos, and they smell amazing. My hair has never felt so soft and healthy since using these shampoo bars.
You can purchase a metal tin to keep these in and they don’t count toward your liquids for your carry on since they are solid bars.
Reusable Water Bottles
I always travel with a water bottle to avoid buying plastic water bottles and using plastic cups. This eco friendly water bottle is made of stainless steel, so it’s durable and eco friendly. It also keeps your drinks cold for 24 hours or hot for 12 hours, which is perfect for on the go and can be used as a reusable coffee mug.
With so many plastic bottles wasted each year, reduce your plastic waste by bringing a reusable bottle with you. Some of my favorite water bottles to have on hand are my Hydroflask Reusable Water Bottle or save space with a Vapur reusable water bottle which rolls up. The HydroFlask water bottle keeps your water cold for up to 24 hours. The benefits of the Vapur is that it can be compact and clip onto your bag. Whichever water bottle you choose, it will be better for the environment and help reduce using bottled water.
You can fill with tap water and find the located water fountain to fill your reusable water bottle.
Eco Friendly Packing Cubes
The best brand out there is Northern Olive Travel Packing cubes. These eco friendly packing cubes are made of recycled materials and help reduce your carbon footprint. I love using these eco friendly packing cubes because they help me organize my suitcase, save space, and keep everything in its place. These are great eco friendly travel products for long trips or if you tend to overpack and want to use a carry on.
Reusable Makeup Wipes by Makeup Eraser
The Makeup Eraser are eco friendly makeup wipes that are perfect for on the go and travel. These are great to have in your purse or backpack for touch-ups or to remove your makeup at the end of the day. I never leave home without them, and they’re much better for the environment than using disposable makeup wipes.
Reusable Utensils
Travel with reusable utensils like a reusable fork, knife, and spoon set to avoid using plastic cutlery. These eco friendly utensils are made of bamboo and come in a carrying case. I love that they’re lightweight and easy to carry around with me. Plus, they’re eco friendly and better for the environment than using disposable plastic utensils. Not only are they great eco friendly travel products, but they are also great to reduce plastic cutlery for camping trips.
Bar Soap
Like the shampoo bar, instead of using body wash, which comes in a plastic bottle, try using bar soap. This eco friendly bar soap is made with natural ingredients and is gentle on the skin. I love that it’s eco friendly and doesn’t contain any harsh chemicals. Plus, it lasts a lot longer than body wash.
Eco Friendly Travel isn’t easy, but there are eco friendly options or environmentally friendly travel products out there that can help protect our Earth so that we can continue to travel on it.

Yeti products and their eco friendly coffee cup is no exception. This reusable coffee cup is made of stainless steel and keeps your drinks hot or cold so it can be used for coffee or as a water bottle. I love that it’s eco friendly and doesn’t contain any harmful chemicals. This will help reduce single use plastics and plastic bottles while traveling. This is an eco friendly product that is also great to pack on a camping trip.
Eco Friendly Deodorant
One eco friendly travel product you shouldn’t travel without is this eco friendly deodorant. It’s made with natural ingredients and doesn’t contain any harsh chemicals. It’s also gentle on the skin and keeps you smelling fresh all day long.
Eco Friendly Detergent
This eco friendly laundry detergent is made with natural ingredients and doesn’t contain any harsh chemicals. It’s also gentle on the skin and clothing. I love that it’s eco friendly and doesn’t contain any harmful chemicals. This is a great eco friendly product to have on hand. I like to pack a little bit into one of my GoToob’s to have on my next trip.

This eco friendly reusable razor is made with recycled plastic bottles and doesn’t contain any harmful chemicals making it one of the best eco friendly products out there. It’s also gentle on the skin and leaves a smooth shave. I love that it’s eco friendly and doesn’t contain any harmful chemicals. This is a great eco friendly product to have on hand. Not only are they made from recycled plastic bottles, they come in a variety of different colors.
