There really isn’t “Spring” in Dubai per se, but March is as close as it gets! You will see a quick transition from the milder days of winter through to long warm days bathed with sunlight for most of the month.

You will experience perfect temperatures in March for enjoying activities on the water and still mild enough that you can spend the daytime outside without roasting.

For this reason, it tends to be one of the most action-packed months for events around town, trying to squeeze every last minute of enjoyment out of the outdoor lifestyle in the city’s vast beaches, parks, and outdoor entertainment precincts.

Dubai Weather in March

In March, you can expect average daytime temperatures of 23.1°C/73.6°F through to 28.7°C/83.7°F and seawater temperature of 23.6°C/74.5°F.

Expect mostly long, sunny days but it’s not unusual to experience rain showers still in March – February has been quite dry in 2022 so we expect we may still have a few more rain showers left this season!

Dubai Special Events March 2023

  • Dubai World Cup – Racing is held at Meydan Race Course throughout the winter; however, the highlight is undoubtedly the World Cup Carnival running from mid-January, culminating in the Dubai World Cup on March 25.
  • World Art Dubai will take place this year at Dubai World Trade Centre from 9 to 12 March 2023.
  • Dubai International Boat Show – enjoy everything from luxury superyachts to fishing boats and everything in between at this world-class event in its 29th year, held at the Dubai Harbour from 1 to 5 March 2023.
  • Get your colour on with Holi festivities during a 12-hour Color Beach Party event taking place at La Mer, Saturday, 11 March 2023. Tickets are on sale with Platinumlist – 100AED single/150AED couples.
  • American singer-songwriter Demi Lovato will be wowing crowds at Coca-Cola Arena on March 18.
  • Don’t miss the always-packed lineup of musical events and theatrical performances at Dubai Opera throughout the month.

March is starting to warm up but still mild enough to be out and about, so let’s make the most of the outdoor weather with these suggestions perfect for your March itinerary:

  • AquaFun on The Beach, JBR – test your agility and fitness in this giant outdoor playground off the shore of one of Dubai’s most popular beaches, The Beach.
  • Explore the Al Marmoom Desert Conservation Reserverent a bike for one of the most unique desert riding experiences, or a local favourite is the walking track around the incredible Love Lakes for wildlife spotting and sensational sunsets.
  • Take a Dubai Canal Dinner Cruise through the city’s latest man-made phenomenon the Dubai Canal, passing by the Burj Khalifa from the water beneath and the Dubai Canal Waterfall Bridge whilst enjoying a buffet dinner.
  • Zipline across the Dubai Marina at speeds up to 80km/hr! Take on this thrilling city zip line through the highrises and over one of the most picturesque urban scenes below.
  • Do as the locals do and pack a picnic, head to Al Mamzar Beach Park – a huge park cum beach on the Sharjah border; it’s the perfect spot for picnicking and BBQs.
  • Enjoy a night under the stars at a traditional Bedouin camp in the desert.

How to Enjoy the Best of Dubai in August (Even When it’s Hot!)

Is March a good time to visit Dubai?

Without a doubt, March is one of the best times to visit if you want to experience the best of Dubai whilst it’s still mild enough to be outside during the day but cool enough that you’re not sweating all day.

Is March too hot in Dubai?

This really depends on your heat tolerance. The average daytime temperature in Dubai ranges from around 23°C/73°F to 28°C/83°F during the month. You might start to find it quite hot in the sun by month-end, but it’s nothing like the somewhat intolerable heat of mid-summer in Dubai. Dubai Air Temperature Chart

Can I swim in Dubai in March?

This depends on who you ask! Locals will no doubt tell you it’s still a little bit chilly in the Persian Gulf waters in March still, but we’re guessing if your coming from Europe and many colder parts of the world, the average sea temperature of 23.6°C/74.5°F is probably quite appealing!

If you’re staying in a resort hotel, they will most likely have their pools still very much heated for your comfort and enjoyment in March.

Does it rain in Dubai in March?

It wouldn’t be unusual to experience an odd rainy day or even a thunderstorm in Dubai in March. Rainfall is traditionally very low in Dubai (around 10mm), but it does happen.

Don’t go packing your umbrella; just take cover if it does and find an indoor activity in Dubai until it passes.

What is the average humidity in March in Dubai?

Humidity in March is usually around 50%, you are approaching the least humid time of the year.

Is March Ramadan in Dubai?

In 2023 the Holy Month will start to fall in March.

The moonsighting committee is expected to announce that Ramadan 1444 will commence on the Gregorian date 22 March 2023. Ramadan will fall during the month of March until 2027.

What season is March in Dubai?

While Dubai doesn’t really follow traditional seasons, March is the start of Spring in the Northern Hemisphere, and the weather heats up substantially during the month.
