Sixt Launches Big Sale On U.S. Car Rentals Until January 31

Right in time for winter road trips, car rental company Sixt is offering a big discount of 30% off rental bookings placed in January.

For bookings made by January 31 for rentals that begin on or before March 31, road trip warriors can take advantage of this big discount for durations from one to 27 days in the United States. According to their website though, this is for its premium, luxury, or extraordinary categories and taxes, fees, surcharges and any extras are not included.

Rated as one of the best car rental companies, the company has been expanding across the country and now has more than 2,000 locations in more than 105 countries. Locations can be found at major airports along with major cities, where clientele can browse their growing selection of vehicles including economy options to electric vehicles and more.

With the continual reduction of gas prices, they fell to just 3.09 per gallon on Christmas Eve, Sixt is trying to take advantage of consumers’ demand for car travel. According to AAA, the current average for a gallon of gas has risen again to $3.28 per gallon but still remains low relative to last summer’s all-time high.

To be prepared for winter road trips, The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration recommends that drivers should prepare themselves and their vehicles for unpredictable weather. The basics include to drive slower, double-checking wheels pressure, preparing for the weather with tire chains and using extra caution on the road.

Before you go, they recommend to stock your vehicle with the below just in case of an emergency

  • Asnow shovel, broom, and ice scraper;
  • Abrasive material (sand or kitty litter), in case your vehicle gets stuck in the snow;
  • Jumper cables, flashlight, and warning devices (flares and emergency markers);
  • Blankets for protection from the cold
  • A cell phone and charger, water, food, and any necessary medicine.
