Since receiving ours I’ve used it to blow up airbeds for sleepovers, to light my way to the bathroom on a glamping trip and it’s even been used to help light up a Christmas craft stall I recently ran!
Of course, we’re in the middle of winter here in the UK, but come spring, I have no doubt this will be joining us on every camping trip.
Now, side by side, compared with a standard electric pump, the Flextail does take longer to do its thing, but given its tiny size, I’ve got to say I found performance to be more than adequate.
Do consider that I use ridiculously thick camping mattresses, and for the average backpacking air mattress or SIM, the Flextail is more than up to the task.
Mine came with a little squishy lampshade that fits on top, and turns the device into little lantern. With 3 different light settings, I found it surprisingly capable and ideal for lighting up a typical small backpacking tent.
As well as inflating, deflating and giving you light, the Flextail Tiny Pump also acts as an emergency backup, allowing you to charge devices like your mobile phone directly from it. Clever huh?
As dedicated car campers, space isn’t too much of an issue for us, but for anyone backpacking, wild camping or needing to pack small and light, the Flextail is a great little gadget you’re sure to find indespensible.
