If you’re looking for a place to visit in Los Angeles, I can provide my insights and experiences on where to go and why.

Los Angeles seems a little overwhelming at times, but I grew up there, and have lived here most of my adult life. Like any major city, there are things “perennial trenders” would say it just has way too much going on. However, I know that LA has a lot more to offer than the “trends” many make it out to be.

You’ll find everything from breathtaking shows to world-famous sights in LA. The city is alive with the buzz of Hollywood and there’s also lots of nightlife to explore and things to see, no matter what time of day it is. It’s laid back, kind of chaotic, a little hectic–but that describes LA perfectly!

Whether it’s the built-up glitz and glamour of the city or the often-overlooked natural landscapes of Los Angeles, you will be surprised at just how easy it is here to explore. You can spend a day exploring our beaches – huge expanses of white sand that is easy to access from the waves to the road. There are hiking trails in Solstice Canyon, an urban park where Runyon Canyon is located.

LA is a cultural melting pot with people from more than 140 countries and over 224 recognized languages. The diversity of LA’s food scene has everything from divine street food to Michelin-starred fine dining and some of the best Mexican food in the nation.

If you’re visiting Los Angeles and are interested in seeing some of the best museums in the world (many of which are right next to each other), stay at one of the exceptional hotels that has been crafted with pampering guests in mind. There are lots of budget-friendly, mid-priced options, too, so you’ll never struggle to find something that fits.

Visit the bay area and experience everything it has to offer! With so much to do, your biggest complaint might just be having to choose.

I travel quite a bit professionally, and I love what I’ve seen over the past few years when it comes to hotels in Los Angeles. Here are my favorite hotel that are worth checking out.

I’m no stranger to Los Angeles hotels. With so many special occasion staycations, plus reviewing them professionally, I have experienced a wide range of hotel amenities. This is why as a journalist for more than a decade, I covered the local event and venue scene. Beyond that, for countless occasions like spa days, poolside afternoons, restaurants, bars, meetings and private events I’ve enjoyed staying in local hotels in different locations around LA

LA is home to some of the world’s most high-end industries, including housing and entertainment. These are just some of the many amenities you’ll find when staying at a hotel in Southern California. And there are endless options for not only hosting but also finding lodging. Here are some of the properties I love best.

West Hollywood

London West Hollywood & Beverly Hills sits in the middle of affluent Beverly Hills and trendy West Hollywood, providing luxurious accommodations. The hotel is fun, chic and bustling with some adorable English bulldogs as its mascots.

I came to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life into a relaxing staycation with my husband. The suite-style accommodation was exactly what we needed, and the city view from the large terrace was just as lovely. Plus, the hotel offers complimentary breakfast each morning, perfect for my growing kids.

Hoxton, Downtown LA

Hoxton fans are looking for interesting and unique design details. The LA outpost definitely delivers!

The boutique hotel comes with a retro-style vibe and offers an Instagram-friendly experience that is different from some other downtown chain hotels. The price point is on par with other major downtown properties, making it a good value for visitors who are in the city for business or pleasure. I stayed there shortly after it opened in 2020, and I was impressed with its details and amenities—without paying too much.

Four Seasons Hotel at Beverly Hills is located in Los Angeles, on Rodeo Drive.

The Four Seasons Los Angeles at Beverly Hills has been on my radar for work events, staycations, spa days, Hollywood events and star sightings. It’s constantly changing with seasonal decorating to only keep up with luxury trends. There is a gorgeous spa where I’ve met stars during lunch times, and the residence itself is family-friendly. There’s also a cool pool to escape with friends during weekend getaways.

Miramar Hotel

I love staying at the Fairmont Miramar. The location is amazing, and there’s something for everyone here. Whether you’re into cocktails at sunset or a healthy-living experience, it’s got all that you could hope for. The pool is beautiful, and I love sleeping in one of the original bungalows set amongst the gardens and palm trees. Fluffy robes and slippers are included in every room, with many balconies facing the ocean or garden views. My favorite has to be one with a view of my beloved Newport Beach!

FIG is one of my family’s favorite restaurants. For special occasions or just relaxing, there is a spacious lobby lounge that overlooks Main Street. Delicious food, beautiful scenery, and relaxation make it a hotspot for locals.
