For Breast Cancer Survivors, the Outdoors Is So Much More

Spending time in nature can help anyone. But simply feeling the breeze takes on a deeper meaning for these breast cancer patients.

For these women struggling with breast cancer, getting outside becomes its own form of treatment. Over and over, the women interviewed in this video tell the same story: the outdoors helped them cope with one of the most difficult moments of their lives.

“You’re a victim of your own body. You feel trapped in your body. You feel trapped in your treatment chair,” breast cancer patient Rachel Martin says in the clip. “To be able to walk outside and feel a breeze on your face … There’s nothing more refreshing. It was just the ultimate escape.”

Adidas TERREX produced the video with Breast Cancer Now, which operates in the U.K. and Europe, and the National Breast Cancer Foundation in the U.S. Working together, they created the Breast Cancer Awareness Collection. Each full-price sale of one of the collection’s products results in £15/€15/$15 donated to those two organizations.
