Hurricane Ian Update
Cancellations, extended cruises, refunds, and future cruise credits. That’s what hurricane Ian is bring to Caribbean cruisers in the coming days.
This is how it breaks down, with the ports of Jacksonville, Tampa, and Port Canaveral all closed.
Carnival Elation out of Jacksonville is staying out at sea an additional two days, returning this Saturday, which in turn is canceling the September 29th sailing. Carnival Paradise also is spending an extra days at sea, returning on Saturday.
Norwegian Getaway is currently repositioning from New York to Port Canaveral, however the September 29th cruise is canceled. The ship is not scheduled to start sailing from central Florida until October 8.
MSC Divina and Royal Caribbean’s Mariner of the Seas are also returning a day late into Port Canaveral and canceling the next cruise.
All guests are being compensated.

Disney Cruise Line to Soon Drop Vaccine Mandate
Disney announced it’ll soon be dropping its vaccination mandate for all guests.
For Disney Wonder, Dream, Fantasy, and Wish, unvaccinated can sail starting October 14th. The same will go for Disney Magic on November 7th.
Unvaccinated passengers five and older must submit proof of a negative test taken one to two days prior to embarkation day to sail.

Port Saint John to Welcome 3 Millionth Cruise Guest This Week
Port Saint John in New Brunswick, Canada is gearing up for a major milestone. The port is expecting to welcome its three millionth cruise guest this week, and will celebrate with a fireworks show on Thursday.
The first cruise ship to visit Saint John was an unexpected arrival by Cunard Princess in 1989 due to a hurricane diversion from Bermuda. The visit was so successful that it kick-started the local cruise industry, which now has an annual economic impact of $68 million.
This year, 70 cruise ship calls are scheduled, bringing to the port an estimated 184,000 guests and 70,000 crew members.
