Today Eden Hotels announces its capital investment plans and announces the creation of a new parent company: Zien Group.
Eden Hotels and all future brands and businesses will be incorporated into Zien Group. Zien Group is based in Amsterdam with offices in London and is led by Billy Skelli-Cohen, the current CEO of Eden Hotels.
Skelli-Cohen unveils plans for Zien’s first two projects, including a commitment for a capital investment of more than €50 million for the existing hotels and further growth of the company. First, Zien takes on the task of revitalizing the Eden brand by refurbishing and refining a number of its portfolio hotels and secondly, creating a new brand of individual hotels – starting by redefining some of its own buildings.
“The support and investment from KSL and the Dijkstra family will enable us to leverage the potential of our hotels even better and realize our growth plans in Europe and the UK,” said Skelli-Cohen. “This is the start of a change for our company and our team. It is extremely exciting and I am very excited to be a part of it.”
KSL Capital Partners, a leading private equity firm in the travel and leisure industry, acquired a majority stake in Eden Hotels in December 2021. Eden Hotels was founded exactly 75 years ago by the Dijkstra family and currently has 14 hotels spread across the Netherlands. Skelli-Cohen was named CEO of Eden Hotels in May 2022, with a mission to build a strong platform for growth and development.
Zien Group has the ambition to expand Eden Hotels and the new brands abroad and is actively looking for new opportunities in Europe and the United Kingdom.
