Atlas Ocean Voyages Names World Traveller and World Navigator in Patagonia – Cruise Industry News

Atlas Ocean Voyages had two celebratory naming ceremonies this weekend for its new ships the World Traveller and the World Navigator.

According to a press release, the dual naming ceremonies took place in the fjords along the Beagle Channel’s Glacier Alley.

The World Navigator had entered service in August 2021 but the formal naming ceremony didn’t happen due to COVID restrictions.

“Both yacht-style vessels specialize in expeditions to some of nature’s most spectacular destinations,” said James Rodriguez, Atlas’ president and CEO. “What a historic weekend for Atlas! It was inspiring to name these two spectacular ships surrounded by majestic glaciers.”

The World Traveller was named on November 19 followed by Zodiac sightseeing of Pia Glacier. The naming festivities for the World Navigator took place on November 20 followed by a luncheon on the ship.

The VIP guest list included shareholders, travel advisors, media and dignitaries from Argentina and Chile.

The World Traveller is currently on its 13-night Ushuaia Roundtrip Cruise with visits to the Drake Passage, Antarctica, Antarctic Peninsula, and Cape Horn, Chile, Antarctica.

The World Navigator is on a 12-night cruise from Valparaiso-Santiago to Ushuaia and will stop at Chiloe Island, Castro, Chile, Chilean Fjords, Patagonia, Punta Arenas, Chile, Antarctica, and the Beagle Channel, Glacier Alley, Chile Patagonia.
