A New Adults-only All-inclusive Resort Just Opened in Cancun — and We Got an Exclusive Sneak Peek

When Hotel Mousai first opened in Puerto Vallarta, it turned the all-inclusive game there on its head. The eclectic yet chic adults-only resort offered something different, with its funky design, glamorous infinity rooftop pools, and suites featuring individual plunge pools. Now, the brand is making its debut on Mexico’s Caribbean coast, with a new adults-only resort in Cancun.

Cancun sets the bar when it comes to all-inclusive resorts, and Hotel Mousai is sure to fit right in with its 88 oceanfront suites, rooftop infinity pool, dramatic views, and sleek design (think shiny, white marble with bold pops of color). True to the original Hotel Mousai, furniture here gets a little funky, including zebra-striped armchairs, art deco chandeliers, and walls splashed with original artwork.

The resort offers eight different room types, which range from multi-bedroom suites with living rooms to corner suites with wraparound terraces. The best room in the house is the Ultra Mousai Corner Suite, which spans 2,200 square feet of living space, including a lounge. All suites, however, have private terraces and Jacuzzis overlooking the ocean, as well as tech touches like smart bidet toilets, Alexa, and iPad-operated curtains and mood lighting.

Hotel Mousai guests can opt for a traditional European plan or an all-inclusive plan. For those who book the latter, additional amenities open up, like access to the sparkling Spa Imagine, one of the most comprehensive spas in Cancun, located next door at sister property Garza Blanca Resort & Spa Cancun. This bonafide temple devoted to relaxation takes up an entire floor of the Garza Blanca, with 16 cabins and a menu of massages, facials, and high-tech, noninvasive treatments. This is the largest spa in parent company Tafer’s portfolio. The gleaming, white space is a posh playground of wellness, with gold finishes and massive floor-to-ceiling windows that flood the space with light. The hydrotherapy circuit is a must for the six-cycle vitality pool. Apart from the spa, Hotel Mousai provides plenty of activities for guests to enjoy, from interactive tequila and wine tastings to yoga classes, snorkeling, and dance lessons.

On-site restaurants include Noi for Italian cuisine, the poolside snack bar for casual fare, and The Rooftop Restaurant. Noi is decked out with bold, contemporary art pieces and has a menu that focuses on pastas, pizzas, and risottos. At poolside the snack bar, guests can order fresh Mexican-style bites, while the buzzy Rooftop serves cocktails and casual cuisine with epic views of the Caribbean Sea. Guests get access to next door TierraLuna Gardens as well. This open-air shopping and entertainment concept has additional restaurants and locally curated boutiques. It also hosts weekly events, like art walks, farmers markets, and live music.

Hotel Mousai Cancun is located north of the Hotel Zone, in the quieter Costa Mujeres section of the city. It’s about 40 minutes from Cancun International Airport.
