There are some places in Europe where it is warm and sunny all year round, especially in the spring.
Some of these places are, unsurprisingly, in Spain and Italy. However, in this list, you’ll also find some lesser-known gems, as well as a tempting selection of beautiful beaches, lovely towns, picturesque islands, and small villages to choose from for an Easter getaway to warm your body and spirit.
The European Best Destinations group has included some unexpected choices on its list of the top 15 places to travel this spring. (Here is the entire list.)
These are the first eight on the list:
8. Zadar, Croatia
Zadar, voted “European Best Destination,” is a paradise for those who appreciate the outdoors, stunning scenery, and romantic sunsets. At Zadar, you can take a boat tour to see the islands that surround this lovely city, such as the island of Ugljan, and the quaint village of Preko.
7. Krk Island, Croatia
Croatia is one of the most beautiful countries in Europe, with 1185 islands. The favorite among travelers is the island of Krk. It is a heaven on earth that is 38 km long and 20 km wide and is The location to be in the spring for a memorable vacation in Croatia.
6. Keukenhof – Lisse, Netherlands
The famous Keukenhof flower park is a must-see. “Keuken” means “kitchen” in Dutch. The grounds of Teylingen Castle were the kitchen garden of a Countess of Bavaria in the 15th century, hence the name “Keukenhof” or “Garden of the Kitchen”
5. Montreux, Switzerland
Well-known across the world for its high standard of living, clean air, and stunning scenery. At the conclusion of his life, Freddie Mercury remained in Montreux and was surrounded by its tranquility. The final album by Queen, Made in Heaven, was recorded there.
4. Porto, Portugal
Porto has been named “Best Destination in Europe” three times. It is considered one of the most romantic places in Europe and one of the safest cities in the world.
3. San Sebastian, Spain (Basque country)
San Sebastian is a traditional and modern city with some of the best cuisine in the country, amazing architecture, top-notch museums, and breathtaking beaches. It is located in one of the most picturesque bays in the entire world.
2. Dublin, Ireland
This is city is just, “alive on sunny spring days with numerous music and cooking festivals, walks and cultural offers.”
1. Stavanger, Norway
The city is well-known among hikers for its extraordinary landscapes. It is especially beautiful in spring, when the trees blossom and the beautiful houses are illuminated by the sun. There are also many beaches along the coast of Jaeren, ideal for observing the local flora and fauna.
