Hemp Underwear: WAMA Underwear Review

Looking for a good hemp underwear brand to try?

I’ve got you covered. In this article, I will be reviewing the popular brand called Wama Underwear.

Before we get to them, let’s talk about hemp and why it’s starting to gain popularity. Hemp is an incredibly versatile plant that has been used for thousands of years in various industries.

As mentioned, recently, hemp has gained popularity in the fashion industry, particularly in the production of sustainable and eco-friendly clothing.

Enter: hemp underwear, a fabric that is being patronized by conscious consumers who want to reduce their environmental footprint.

WAMA is a hemp underwear brand that is committed to producing comfortable, high-quality, and sustainable underwear. The brand uses a blend of hemp and organic cotton to create its products, resulting in a soft and breathable fabric that is perfect for everyday wear.

Additionally, WAMA’s hemp fabric is naturally antibacterial, anti-microbial, and odor-resistant, making it an excellent choice for those with sensitive skin or active lifestyles.

Benefits of Hemp Underwear

Hemp and cotton are two popular materials used in the production of underwear. While cotton has been a go-to fabric for many years, hemp is quickly gaining popularity as a more sustainable and eco-friendly option.

One of the primary advantages of hemp over cotton is its natural anti-bacterial and antimicrobial properties.

Hemp fabric resists the growth of bacteria and fungi, which means that hemp underwear stays fresher for longer.

Additionally, hemp’s natural properties make it an excellent choice for individuals with sensitive skin or allergies.

Another benefit of hemp over cotton is its breathability and moisture-wicking properties. Hemp fabric is highly breathable and can absorb up to 20% of its weight in moisture without feeling damp, making it an ideal choice for individuals who are active or tend to sweat.

Cotton, on the other hand, can retain moisture, making it less comfortable to wear for extended periods.

Hemp fabric is also more durable than cotton and can withstand frequent wear and washing without losing its shape or quality.

Hemp fibers are stronger than cotton fibers and are less prone to breaking or fraying. This means that hemp underwear can last longer than cotton underwear, making it a more cost-effective and sustainable option.

Finally, hemp is a more sustainable material than cotton. Hemp plants require less water and pesticides to grow, making them a more environmentally friendly option. Additionally, hemp plants can grow more quickly and regenerate more quickly than cotton plants, making hemp a more sustainable choice for conscious consumers.

Overall, while cotton has been a popular fabric for underwear for many years, hemp offers several advantages over cotton in terms of sustainability, durability, breathability, and anti-bacterial properties.

WAMA Underwear Review

We decided to test out three of Wama’s products in order to properly test out their product line. According to WAMA’s website, all their manufacturing is done in China where the majority of their hemp is grown on small family run organic farms.

WAMA Hemp Triangle Bralette

WAMA’s Hemp Triangle Bralette is a comfortable and sustainable alternative to traditional bras. Made from a blend of 53% hemp, 44% organic cotton, and 3% spandex.

First impressions are that it is both soft and breathable. I’m not sure why but I thought that the material would be a little scratchy but that isn’t the case. It feels lighter than cotton so I’m very interested to see how long it will last compared to it.

The triangle shape offers minimal coverage and provides light support, making it perfect for everyday wear. The bralette is available in sizes XS to 4XL and comes in three main colors: black, nudes, and purple

Being someone that hates wearing bras and anything with an underwire, this seems like a great option. It has an adjustable strap which means everything is fully supported and comfortable.

WAMA Hemp Bikini Underwear

WAMA’s Hemp Bikini Underwear is a sustainable and comfortable option for those who prefer a classic cut. Similar to the bralette, it is made from a blend of 53% hemp, 44% organic cotton, and 3% spandex, this bikini underwear is soft, breathable, and moisture-wicking.

The bikini style provides moderate coverage and a comfortable fit, making it an ideal choice for everyday wear.

The underwear is available in sizes XS to 4XL and comes in various shades of nude, black, and purple. WAMA’s commitment to sustainability is reflected in the use of eco-friendly materials and ethical production methods.

The hemp bikini underwear is incredibly thin and breathable which increases airflow during physical activities. I am looking forward to putting these to the test during long hikes.

WAMA Boxer Briefs

Made from a blend of 53% hemp, 44% organic cotton, and 3% spandex, these boxer briefs are soft, breathable, and moisture-wicking.

The boxer brief style offers full coverage and a comfortable fit, making them ideal for everyday wear or for active lifestyles.

The boxer briefs are available in sizes S to 4XL, you can get them in a variety of colors from black, purple, to green.

Overall, the Hemp Boxer Briefs are a great option for men looking for comfortable and eco-friendly underwear. Similar to the bikini underwear, the material is very soft after a few washes.

The overall hold their shape (waistband included) and get softer after each wash.

WAMA Hemp Underwear: Overall Conclusion

When it comes to looking for natural fabrics for underwear, there actually aren’t a lot of options which is why I was excited to try these out. We’ve done a lot of reviews on merino wool fabric brands like Ibex Merino Wool and Western Rise.

Overall, we’re pretty pleased with the material. They are very soft and lightweight so I would be interested to see how long they hold up as they seem a bit too good to be true.

So far, after a few washes and wears, they have held up pretty well. Another thing that I love is the variety of shades they offer for their nude/natural tones. I would love to see more brands do this.

While the price point is generally higher compared to regular cotton underwear, it is reasonably priced compared to other natural fabric brands.

Overall, WAMA is a great option for those who want to make the switch to prioritize natural and sustainable fibers for their clothing.
