Colorado Bear Takes 400 Selfies, Tells Your Teenager to Match That

Wildlife researchers in Boulder, Colorado, use cameras to capture the comings and goings of the local fauna for valuable data mined by the Open Space and Mountain Parks department. The goal is to see what animals are there, and what they’re doing so to better minimize human/wildlife interactions.

Turns out, they’re taking selfies. At least one photogenic bear did.

In November, the department was going over recent footage from one of their cameras that had captured 580 images. They were surprised to see 400 of the photos were of the same bear.

Typically, the animals ignore the cameras, or at least, that’s the hope. But this bear loves it. Sadly, unless it has internet access, it won’t ever see the results of its photoshoot.

“These pictures made us laugh, and we thought others would too,” a spokesperson for Open Space and Mountain Parks said in a statement.
