Holland America Line Introduces 150th Anniversary ‘Heritage Cruises’

With its 150th Anniversary year underway, Holland America Line (HAL) is introducing authentic Heritage Cruises that focus on ports rich in the brand’s history and feature unique onboard and shoreside experiences. These “Heritage Cruises” are special sailings that will take place during the entirety of HAL’s 150th Anniversary, revisiting historic ports of call across the globe. HAL will take its guests to ports rich in the cruise line’s history and culture that share its region-specific story through historical moments, fun facts, photos, and much more. While at sea, guests will experience the cruise line’s Dutch seafaring heritage with classic games like Sjoelen, a Dutch tabletop shuffleboard game, and throwbacks like a Historic Happy Hour with prices and items from the line’s earliest menus (think cocktails less than $1!). If you’re interested, I’d love for you to join a Heritage Cruise and experience Holland America Line this year, let me know if you’re interested in sailing with us and I can share the available sail dates.

Guests will enjoy memorable onboard experiences such as:

  • Custom menu items unique to the region and HAL’s 150-year history
  • Historic Happy Hours when a 150th Martini for just $.75 cents
  • Custom HAL’s PILZ created for the brand’s 150th anniversary
  • 150th ‘De Lijn’ Gin Cocktails
  • Classic onboard games activities first played onboard like shuffleboard and egg walk
  • Captain’s Gala Dinner with classic dishes
  • Dutch High Tea served with sweet and savory Dutch treats and sandwiches specially made for Heritage Voyages
  • ‘This Day in History’ Announcements
  • 150th Anniversary Mariner Tile
  • And much more

Chief among these regions that will be visited and celebrated include:
