Behind the Fun Returning to Carnival Cruise Line in February – Cruise Industry News

Carnival Cruise Line is bringing back the Behind the Fun backstage tour.

According to the company’s brand ambassador John Heald, the experience is returning in February.

The guided tour offers passengers an opportunity to look behind the crew only doors, he added in a social media post, and will be back early in the month. Details are expected to be announced over the coming weeks.

First introduced in 2009, the Behind the Fun tour offers participants a behind-the-scenes look at a range of shipboard venues that are normally off limits to guests.

During the three-and-a-half-hour tour, key shipboard personnel, including the captain, chief engineer, chef de cuisine and other department heads, share knowledge in their particular area of expertise.

Visited areas usually include the backstage of the main show lounge, laundry rooms, crew galley and dining room, crew gym, and crew training center. Other restricted areas such as the main galley, the bridge and the engine control room may also be visited.

Originally, the tour also features Q&A sessions with the captain and chief engineer, as well as a number of commemorative gifts, such as custom-made Behind the Fun baseball caps and lanyards.

Bookable through the ships’ shore excursion desks, the tours cost extra and run in limited-size groups of guests.

In November, Carnival also brought back the Faster to the Fun experience. A priority embarkation package that also includes other onboard perks, the program is now available across the fleet once again.

In addition to an exclusive check-in line, passenger who choose to buy the add-on program will take advantage of a express luggage delivery, a dedicated line at guests service, priority dining reservations and more.

Other benefits include priority water shuffle boarding in tender ports and the option to choose debarkation time at the end of the cruise.
