In general, November is a transitional month between the rainy season and the dry season in many parts of Mexico.

In the Yucatan Peninsula, which includes popular tourist destinations such as Cancun and Playa del Carmen, November is typically the start of the dry season. November is a popular time to visit the Yucatan Peninsula because the weather is typically sunny and dry, with little rain and humidity.

November is one of the most favorable months to visit San Miguel de Allende due to the weather conditions.

There is little to no chance of rain in San Miguel de Allende in November with a high temperature of 74°F. Perfect weather for exploring this vibrant city.

November is the shoulder season for Cancun, the rain has eased off and the number of visitors is slowly increasing.

With temperatures between 71°F and 85°F, you can enjoy all that Cancun has to offer in comfortable heat.

There is also very little rainfall, and the best news is November marks the end of hurricane season so this is not something you have to worry about.

5. Oaxaca City in November

You have picked the perfect month to visit Oaxaca! With the extravagant and exciting celebrations of the Day of the Dead starting the month, you won’t find anywhere better to celebrate.

Along with this, the weather is ideal in November. The temperature is around 71°F which means it will still feel warm, but comfortable for exploring a city.

There is also very little rain in Oaxaca in November with only 2 days of rainfall.

6. La Paz in November

November is actually one of the coolest months for La Paz, but with an average temperature of around 82°F so it’s still surprisingly warm.

La Paz is the capital of Baja California and offers visitors the best of both a city and beach escape. There is very little to no rain in November, giving you the perfect chance to make the most of the warm days and discover the city and beaches.

The temperature can drop in La Paz in the evenings with an average of 61°F.

Rain is rare in November but the evenings can get quite cold so make sure to take layers to wrap up.

November is part of the high season for Mexico City, so you can expect larger crowds. The beginning of November will be very busy with the Day of the Dead festival taking place from 31st October to 2nd November.

8. Puerto Vallarta in November

This beautiful coastal town is a must-visit when the climate is good. November is a great time to visit. Temperatures are comfortable in November with an average of 77°F.

You can visit one of the many amazing beaches in Puerto Vallarta, like Playa las Gemelas, Playa Las Glorias, or Playa Mismaloya. You may even catch a glimpse of a humpback whale towards the end of the month before the official whale watching season starts.

Temperatures are easing from the humid rainy season, and November sits around 85°F. Humidity levels are lower than in October and September so you can explore the museums, fantastic restaurants and central plazas.

November is still in the hurricane season, it’s rare for storms in Merida but there might be a little rain. Nothing significant so you can still plan the trip you want.

Events in Mexico in November 

Dia de la Revolucion (Revolution Day)- November 20th – An annual celebration to commemorate the 10 year revolution that started in 1910. A national public holiday to enjoy parades and traditional Mexican foods.

Dia de Muertos (Day of the Dead) – 31st October-2nd November – One of the biggest and most widespread celebrations in Mexico, where the loved ones of the deceased celebrate and honor their lives. There are intimate ceremonies such as candlelit memorials, or if you head to Mexico City or Oaxaca, you will see concerts and parades.

Los Cabos Film Festival – Established in 2012, Los Cabos film festival takes place every November to celebrate and promote Mexican films and talents. It has grown each year and has partnerships with other film festivals like Cannes Film Festival and Tribeca Film Institute.

San Miguel De Allende Jazz Festival – Both Mexican and International jazz musicians come together for this major festival. It lasts a week long and you can enjoy concerts, workshops and informal jam sessions across the bars and clubs in town.

An important religious holiday is celebrated on 1st November which is All Saint’s Day. The first of a two-day celebration where it’s believed the souls of children return to the world, the children are also referred to as little angels. 

Alters are set up at homes, and graves are cleaned and decorated with candles, seasonal flowers, and paper streamers to honor the deceased.
