GiantMouse, Filson Conduct Pop-Up-Shop Tour to Benefit Historical Landmark Restoration

Knifemaker GiantMouse will visit Filson shops nationwide to sell special-edition knives in support of restoring a 1930s lookout fire tower.

This fall, an unknown number of limited-edition Filson Brass Clydes will be sold at four locations during the GiantMouse Pop-Up Shop Tour. This weekend, the pop-up tour will head to the Filson Boston store. Afterward, the tour will continue over in the Pacific Northwest in Seattle as well as Portland, Ore.

At each event, folks can view and purchase exclusive knives, along with products from GiantMouse’s fall collection. Friends of GiantMouse and Filson, the brands announced, will receive a bonus “gift” when they drop by at one of the locations.

There will also be opportunities to network with Jens Anso and Jesper Voxnaes, designers of Filson knives, and Giantmouse CEO Jim Wirth.

All proceeds from the sale of these specialty knives will go to the restoration of the historical landmark Burley Mountain Fire Lookout. The brands will donate the funds through the National Forest Foundation.

Why this specific restoration project? Filson was founded in Seattle, so it’s only fitting to give a little back to a local Washington state landmark. And GiantMouse is enthusiastic about the collab.

“We wanted to support a charity that Filson was supporting with the proceeds of these knives. And when they told us about the fire lookout restoration, we loved it! Filson has been working with the National Forest Foundation on this project for over a year.” GiantMouse knives explained.

The Burley lookout is only one of three that still remain in Washington state’s Gifford Pinchot National Forest. It was built in 1934 and registered as a historical landmark in 2000.

Only 50 of the Filson-edition Brass Clydes exist, and they’re available only at this pop-up shop on a first-come, first-served basis. The knife goes for $200 MSRP.
