10 Top Healthiest Countries For Digital Nomads And Why U.S. Isn’t On The List

The healthiest nations for digital nomads were identified by Lemon.io, a marketplace for software developers, based on data from the Economist Intelligence Unit’s Global Health Security Index 2022.

The study ranked 195 countries on how prepared they are for pandemics and epidemics.

Australia was named the healthiest country in the world for digital nomads and remote workers.

It has a long-term visa program called “Working Holiday Maker” that allows digital nomads to work and live in the country for a year. The restriction is that you must be between 18 and 30 years old (or 35 in some cases) to qualify, according to the country’s tourism bureau website.

Germany came in second place on the list. The European country received an index score of 65.5, which changed by only 0.2 points from 2019. Non-EU citizens can obtain visas in Germany for periods ranging from six months to three years.

New Zealand rounds out the top three. People between the ages of 18 and 30 (or up to 35 in some countries) are allowed to work in New Zealand for up to 12 months, or 23 months if they are from the United Kingdom or Canada.

  1. Australia‘s beaches are consistently ranked among the best in the world. Surfing, swimming, snorkeling and sunbathing are just some of the ways to enjoy Australia’s stunning beaches and islands.
  2. Germany is a great place for digital nomads due to its combination of old world beauty and modern cosmopolitan centers.
  3. New Zealand boasts a spectacular wealth of stunning scenery, friendly and fun-loving people, and plenty to see and do.
  4. France: world-class art and architecture, delicious cuisine and stunning beaches.
  5. Spain: Madrid and Barcelona are world famous for their vibrant arts and culture scenes, amazing gastronomy, incredible museums and impressive shopping.
  6. Norway: Mountains, fjords, northern lights, Sami culture, whale watching and so much more awaits you in this country.
  7. Mexico: Gorgeous beaches, ancient ruins, seductive culture, dynamic cities full of colonial architecture and fiery, delicious cuisine.
  8. Estonia: bird watching, canoeing, sailing or fishing
  9. Portugal: the wine country in the north is lush and tranquil, while the coasts are rugged and dramatic.
  10. Hungary: Hungary’s landscapes are full of natural beauty, and the best part is that they are often relatively undiscovered and untouched.

Although the United States ranks first with a score of 75.9/100, it does not offer a visa for digital nomads and therefore was not included in the top ten.
