This Is Europe’s Most Affordable City For Students

The city of Porto in Portugal has been named Europe’s most affordable city for students.

This result was obtained through this year’s StudentGoGlobal rating, which examined the affordability of 250 cities worldwide.

Porto, the largest city in Portugal, is also known for the University of Porto, which attracts a significant number of international students, as well as the Polytechnic Institute of Porto.

According to the ranking, the Czech Republic’s capital, Prague, is the second most affordable city in Europe for students, followed by Madrid, which is ranked third in the StudentGoGlobal list this year.

“Madrid, Spain’s capital, is a city of elegant boulevards and expansive parks such as the Buen Retiro. It’s famous for its rich repositories of European art, including the Prado Museum’s works by Velázquez, Goya, and other Spanish artists,” reads the report.

The following ten European cities are considered the most affordable ones for students:

According to the survey, five of the top ten cities on the list are in the United Kingdom.

According to data supplied by Portugal’s Directorate of Higher Education (DGES), over 61,000 students sought admission to the first phase of higher education.

Prior to the pandemic’s spread in 2019, roughly 10,000 fewer applications were submitted in the first phase of the National Competition for Access to Higher Education than in recent years.

Furthermore, it was recently reported that Portugal changed its law in order to ease immigration in the country, which is experiencing labor shortages in numerous areas.

At the same time, the Czech National Agency for International Education and Research indicated that the Czech Republic is a popular destination for international students.

Moreover, many of those who choose to study in the Czech Republic find jobs after graduation and stay in the country.

According to the same source, the field of foreign students has become increasingly diversified in recent years.
