This Portuguese Paradise Launches A Digital Nomad Campaign To Attract British Remote Workers

The Cascais tourism board in Portugal has started a campaign to entice British digital nomads to spend a “workation” there.

According to Google Trends, searches for “digital nomad” have increased 376 percent in the last two years, with an estimated 35 million digital nomads worldwide.

The Cascais Tourism Board, in partnership with DNA Cascais, has launched a new campaign called “It Works for You,” inviting British digital nomads to trade in their home offices for the Portuguese Riviera.

As a result of the pandemic, nearly two-thirds of UK workers (62%) are considering moving abroad to work remotely. This makes the nomadic lifestyle more enticing than ever, as British travelers seek a more balanced life that encompasses work, leisure and pleasure.

Cascais offers remote workers over 300 days of sunlight each year, easy access to Lisbon, an established expat community, and a selection of enticing coworking spaces.

Bernardo Corrêa de Barros, president of the Cascais Tourism Board, says: “We are delighted to launch our brand new digital nomad campaign and to be joining forces with DNA Cascais.

“Supporting the desires and demands of our tourists is crucial and we hope the campaign will inspire even more working professionals to consider Cascais as their next ‘workation’ and leisure setting.”
