Princess Revises Skagway Schedule
Princess Cruises has announced a revised schedule for some Alaska voyages set to call in Skagway this year.
Due to rockslides in the port area, as well as a continued risk of more in the near future, 10 of Princess’ 31 Skagway calls in 2022 have been canceled.
Here are the replacements for Skagway:
- The August 23 and September 6 Majestic Princess cruises, as well as the August 25 and September 1 Discovery Princess sailings will visit Icy Strait Point.
- The August 16th and 30th Royal Princess cruises will visit Haines.
- The August 11, September 8, and September 22 Discovery Princess voyages, as well as the September 13 cruise on Royal Princess will stop in Sitka.
The forward berth, where Princess’ Royal-class ships dock, will likely remain closed for the rest of the 2022 cruising season.

The Walt Disney Company Q3 Update Focuses on Disney Wish
During a recent Walt Disney Company Q3 business update, which reported a 26 percent jump in revenue, the company put a focus on its latest new build, Disney Wish.
Though the cruise line is just a fraction of the the entertainment operators overall business, a recent study from passengers showed that 40 percent of past-guests-surveyed would not have chosen to go on a cruise if it wasn’t a Disney sailing.
The entertainment operator also said that though the other four ships werent sailing full last quarter, the occupancy is continuing to increase week over week.
The ship, which debuted on July 14, is currently sailing three and four-night Bahamas cruises from central Florida.
Former Crew Member Removed Due to an Expired Visa
U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers in New Orleans apprehended a former crewmember that had absconded from a Carnival ship over seven years ago in New Orleans, and processed him for removal.
The 36-year old Indonesian citizen had originally entered the U.S. on a non-immigrant, crew member visa aboard the Carnival Fantasy in 2015 and overstayed his visa.
Officers apprehended the former Carnival employee without incident as he left his home on the way to his job at a nearby ramen restaurant. He was eventually flown back to Indonesia.
