The current Srinagar Leh Highway Status is open. The road was declared open on the 25th of March after the snow-clearing operation at Zojila Pass was completed. For safety reasons, the traffic across the pass is regulated for now.
From the Kargil side, vehicles are allowed to travel between 4 am to 10 am. The traffic from the Sonamarg side is released after 10 am. The pass remains closed on Fridays for all kinds of traffic for maintenance work.
This rule is applicable only for the Zojila Pass. No such regulation is in place for any other passes en route.

One of the most important factors that will determine the Srinagar to Leh highway status next year is how the whole Kashmir situation will develop. The removal of Article 370 has not only changed the geographical map of India but also the lives of people living in Kashmir and Ladakh.
So far in the year, there have not been any major incidents but it does not mean that the situation has settled. So before you plan the trip, please keep a close check on the news before deciding whether to include Srinagar to Leh road in your itinerary or not.

Srinagar Leh highway condition
Most of the highway was in good condition in the previous year. There were some bad stretches as well in between. But on an overall basis, the road was mostly a mix of good and average.
The heavy snowfall and extreme weather in winters do a lot of damage to the road. How it will be in 2022 is something that we will only know after the road opens.

There is really no way to tell Srinagar-Leh road condition today until it is completely open. The stretch between Leh and Kargil, however, remains open throughout the year and is a completely smooth one.
Srinagar Leh Highway in October
The status of the Srinagar Leh highway in October remains to be open. But a trip in the latter part of the month is never a good idea. It can snow anytime at Zoji La in October.
Though the road may remain open, it can temporarily be closed for a few days. The risk of driving on slippery stretches, of course, will remain in October.
Srinagar Leh Highway in April
Srinagar to Leh road status in April will entirely depend on how much it snowed and how fast BRO was able to clear the snow. Historically though, the road remains closed in the first part of the month and is only open after the 20th.
My advice would be to wait for the weather updates before finalizing your itinerary. Traveling in May first week will be a much better idea than in April.

Srinagar to Leh road condition in May is much better and stabilized as compared to April. It is among the best months to be traveling on the Srinagar to Leh road route. The weather will be pleasant and you will also get to see plenty of snow as well which is mostly all gone by May end.
Srinagar Leh highway in June
Srinagar Leh road’s current status in June is completely open and is safe to travel on. This is the peak tourist season in Kashmir and Ladakh and another good month to be on the route.
Srinagar Leh highway in July and August
Both these months are the time of the monsoon season. Though it does not rain in Ladakh so much, it surely does in the Kashmir area. Floods, landslides, and incessant rains are normal occurrences in both these months.

September is an awesome month for a trip to both Kashmir and Ladakh. The rains would be all gone but would have left plenty of greenery behind in Kashmir for you to enjoy. The barren landscape of Ladakh presents an amazing contrast of colors in this month. The road will remain completely open and you are free to travel.
